Now you see him, now you don't. Simply the best
It was around 9 o'clock
at night and I'm sat here in a rather odd yet interesting place. A place where
the great J-Flow once grew up around. Yes it seemed rather dark, dim and
sombre, but it was in fact the birth of one of the most successful hip-hop
artists ever and at the age of 19, the story of this superstar was increasingly
interesting and was something I just couldn't let slip out of my mind. I
arrived at this place 2 hours earlier and it certainly allowed me to catch
J-Flow on the move, and he was quick to notice me round the far bend of the road, I instantly
knew that I could finally land my heavy price.
Ayiaz also known as J-Flow was once a gang member in one of London's most deprived areas. An area where all the vibe to it is seen as nothingness, with an area of loss and failure to configure especially around it's youth. That area was Stretham, located in South London. Ayiaz had to live up to these circumstances and that's where the rising star "J-Flow" began his reign. "It all happened so quick" was the words of the young superstar. Ayiaz in fact grew up without a father and only had his mother for someone to look up to, "It was hard for me but she was all I had" and although the past lifestyle of Ayiaz was severely damaged, he found a way to get away from the havoc of his life. Ayiaz would decide to pull away and come down to the corner of the park, he named "time of peace" where he would literally just sit and write "That was where I began to develop my ideas from" His anonymous debut album "Bloodlines" was written right here in this park, where this "J-Flow" superstar all began. "I actually did it for fun, till I realised I wrote quite a lot, it was all from the heart" He cleverly quoted.
Throughout the exposition of his
entrance I began questioning how he managed to use sophisticated English to
converse with me. I asked how he managed to do so and he replied with "My
lyrics of each and every song I wrote". That instantly sparked a note as
to how that made him very articulate with his choice of words and phrases.
"You see my will to write under such stress and depression allows me to
express my self like never before, I think that's what brings the best out of
me. I mean like who would've thought a <hoodrat> like me would become an instant hit" He sighed
slowly. He was right, it's almost impossible to picture a "hoodrat" blazing in the
eyes of the media isn't it?. He had the belief that one day he'll dominate the
genre of underground hip-hop which is quite ironic as people would expect
someone of his a gender to move towards the genre of rap, but instead he chose the
life of an underground hip-hop artist where he describes it as "more
desirable". The name "J-Flow" was indeed very intriguing to
understand how it had developed so I was quick to ask how he came up with the
name. "One of my closest friends, Jay Marshall, was taken away from me
when we were just 13. We were part of a gang bust up and unfortunately it layed down on Jay, which
led to me naming my success after his name as it helps inspire me to seek for
success and never fall short of ideas." He expressed in a rather sorrowful tone. "As for the flow part, that just came to my
head whilst I was spitting my barz on my YouTube channel init" He blurted out
immediately.
